7 Killer Resources For Aspiring Entrepreneurs To Increase Performance

There are so many great books to offer help and guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs. When I graduated college, the furthest thing from my mind was diving back into a book to learn something. I’ve been removed from college for, well a long time now and I find it a joy to pickup a new book and learn something new.

According to the Pew Research Center , 26% of Americans say they haven’t read a book in whole or partially started. To be truthful, I was in the 26% club several years ago. Are you in this club? I trust you said NO!

Leaders Are Readers

“Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.” – Harry Truman

Since my awakening from not reading, to now reading a book every month or so, I have had the opportunity to study those who you would consider at the top of their profession. There is a common trait they all share. They are make it a habit to be consistent readers.

Aspiring entrepreneurs who desire to be a leader in their field should be a continuous reader.

“If a person will spend one hour a day on the same subject for five years, that person will be an expert on that subject.” – Earl Nightingale

Think about that quote. Spending one hour for five years will elevate you to becoming an expert in that subject.

What Would Your Library Say About You?

Your book shelf whether you believe it or not, says much about you. It shows your interests, your choices and what consumes your mind.

Again, if I look in the rearview mirror, I didn’t have a book shelf. Perhaps one or two fiction books but nothing of substance to even setup a book shelf.

I know what you are thinking; book are dinosaurs, they are declining and digital and audible are the way people read. The modes of taking information in are changing and you still have a library which could exist on your Kindle, phone, computer or tablet.

So look inside your library and what one or two words would it say about you?

Now, how many of those books have your truly read? As I glance to my library, I know I haven’t read all of them, but about 90% of them.

Invest In YOU

“Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. it will not only improve your life, it will improve the lives of all those around you.” – Robin S. Sharma

I can recall on two occasions from leaders in their industry shared one of their secrets and it somewhat surprised me. They said it was consistent financial investments in themselves at a very high level.

One of the leaders suggested taking 10% of your monthly budget and investing it on you in terms of: coaching, courses, conferences, resources, books, etc.

No matter what level of investment you can make, just begin. Start to invest in you. Here are my suggested seven resources to invest in.
